NY'09 Day 13, ,monday august 24
Today I slept out again (yes I know again, but it is a holiday, nah' saying').
And went for our last shoppingtrip to Jamaica Av. again (yes again, blabla, I don't give a F).
After shopping we grabbed some food @ Taco Bell. I'd never eaten at Taco Bell before so I didn't really know what to expect, except taco's I guess xD.

They had 3 Types of sauce's I put them all on my nachos and burrito, but the fire thing wasn't even that hot, but It did let my ass on faya ! :o damzz, my ass was trippin'...DON'T MESS WITH TACO BELL SAUCE HOMBRE, I'M NOT KIDDING AMIGO !!!

My mum and sis' ordered kids menu's. But instead of french fries they got cinnamon twists with it ! (cinnamon="kaneel", for all your Dutchies) It was good though.
I youtube'd taco bell and they've even got their own youtube channel, crazy. Check out this taco bell music videoclip:
It's all about the Roosevelt's baby, whehe xD
When we were eatin' at Taco Bell we saw our uncle walking outside. He was lookin' for us 'cause Sean Paul and The Mighty Sparrow's would have a concert in Brooklyn. So we rushed, took a cab (taxi)back to our house. Cause a friend of us was waitin' at our place to take us to BK (Brooklyn) by car.

The cab+cabdriver. The guy was really nice, I asked him for how long he has been a taxi driver, and he told me that he was a teacher at an University in the Bronx and just is a cab driver in his spare time, just 'cause he likes it. Nice dude!
But let me continue my story. When we came in BK to go to the Sean Paul & Might Sparrow's performance. There were a lot of cops and fences. The park was closed ! The park was already full! Nobody was alowed to get in, unless you got a vip-pass or you life around the area. Damzz...
AND, Sean Paul canceled his performance. A throat problem has forced him to cancel his performance. Soca King Machel Montano replaced him as the headliner...

NY'09 Day 12, sunday august 23
Today I slept out. I was kinda tired from the party so...
In the late afternoon we took the bus to Green Acres Mall, that's also in Queens.
Where we did some shopping again' ^^.
And ended our shopping with some food @ Wendy's.

The food was better then I expected, especially for the price (1 dollar for a crispy chicken burger), damnn son. It was like Fingerlickin', whehe...

Check out this sort of funny Wendy's commercial:
When we were in the bus we saw some party tents along the road, where people had church and were singing and dancin'. Sunday->Church day...

NY'09 Day 10, friday august 21 + Sight seeing
Today we first went to Coney Island (all the way in the south of NY ).
We had some expectations of how it would might be, but to be honest it was just a beach with a boulevard with a carnival and some small shops.
Scheveningen (in Holland/The Netherlands) is way better!!

,Coney Island Boulevard
DID YOU KNOW:
The Dutch name for the island was Conyne Eylandt ("Konijn Eiland" in modern Dutch spelling), meaning Rabbit Island. This name is found on the New Netherland map of 1639 by Johannes Vingboon. (New York State and New York City were originally a Dutch colony and settlement, named Nieuw Nederlandt and Nieuw Amsterdam.) As on other Long Island barrier islands, Coney Island had many and diverse rabbits and rabbit hunting prospered until resort development eliminated their habitat...
KNOW YOU KNOW...

Some educational graffiti @ Coney Island Boulevard

Think you can beat the hotdog eating record !? @ Coney Island

To bad it was closed, maybe the kid grew up, lost his second head or something :p...@ Coney Island

Guy with his pimped bicycle @ Coney Island

It's the magic schoolbus xD...@ Coney Island

After we had lunch @ Subway we took the Subway all the way to the north of the city, the Bronx. Where we did some shopping (again).

Some street in the Bronx from above @ Subway

Subway depot and railways @ Bronx

NY'09 Day 9, thursday august 20 + Sight seeing
Today I first chilled the whole afternoon in the house.
When I was in the kitchen all of a sudden we saw Mr. Squirrel just chillin' in front of our kitchenwindow in search for food.

Talkin' about squirrels, this Squirrel Rips:
In the evening we went to another performance. This time we went to the "The Persuasions" at the Rochdale Park in Queens. The had a free concert over there.
The Persuasions are an a cappella group which began singing together in Brooklyn, New York in the early 1960s and have gone on to produce many albums covering a wide range of musical genres, yet all filtered through their own four-to-six-part a cappella doo-wop sensibilities.
You might never heard of them before, but maybe you have heard of them before. sampled by the Wu Tang Clan in the song Campfire
The original version by The Persuasions - Gypsy Woman:
We ended our day evening with some pizza. A lot of the stores that had Pizza written on their window only had frozen pizza. But we wanted fresh Pizza from the oven. So effentialy we found one. Pizza Pancho @ Parsons Blvd Jamaica

NY'09 Day 8, wednesday august 19 + Sight seeing
Today we went to Manhattan again. We went to SoHo and Chinatown.

The oldest Chinatown of NY @ Mott St. Manhattan
Some Chinese architecture building.
After we ate some Chinese (Wonton Soup was real good ^^), we took the subway to Central Park.

The park is huge and you got a lot of things that you can do over there besides just hanging out. For example, there was a carnival.

You might remember this place from the movie "Home alone 2"...

It's Bethesda Terrace with the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park.
DID YOU KNOW: The fountain sculpture was designed by Emma Stebbins in 1868 and unveiled in 1873. Mrs. Stebbins was the first woman to receive a public commission for a major work of art in New York City.

Youngman husslin' bubbles, he was cool tough, just listenin' to his music and playin' with the kids.

People having fun on the water.

Street artists under the terrace. Crazy performance!

Mr. Squirrel

There were a lot of these riksja's

And a lot of these horses with lil' carriage's

Pigeons chillin' at the traffic light with the infamous Plaza Hotel on the right (also from "Home Alone 2")

Golden statue next to Central Park and the Plaza Hotel

LEFT WORLDWIDE ! (www.left.nl) @ SoHo NY

Penguins @ Subway
Talkin' about penguins:

John Lennon R.I.P. (he was an English rock musician, singer, songwriter, author, and peace activist who gained worldwide fame as one of the founding members of The Beatles)
DID YOU KNOW:
That he was murdered on the night of 8 December 1980, at around 10:50 pm. Mark David Chapman (who had been stalking Lennon since October) shot Lennon in the back four times in the entrance of the Dakota apartment building. Earlier that evening, Lennon had autographed a copy of Double Fantasy (one of Lennon's books) for Chapman.
Jerry Levitan interviewed John Lennon in 1969 when he was 14. Director Josh Raskin and illustrator James Braithwaite have collaborated to create an animated short film using the original interview recording as the soundtrack...
